Clear accessories, also known as lucite accessories, were first spotted last year on the runways for Spring/Summer 2013 but have been recently making the rounds amongst stores and fashion bloggers.  They come in many forms and sizes; from shoes to bracelets, from clutches to necklaces and everything in between.  It is definitely a newer trend as I do not recall it trending in the past ten years.  I'm just waiting for Forever 21 to sell their clear bracelets and lucite statement necklaces so I can snatch them!  The possibilities for pairing clear accessories with your outfits are endless.  Here are some pictures of clear accessories as well as where you can buy them.

Forever 21 also has a whole collection of clear accessories out, I still haven't spotted them in any stores in Toronto but you can see them here and here.

T+J Designs  I love T+J jewellery!  They have a whole collection of lucite accessories.

Here are some street stylers strutting their accessories!

I am in love with this trend and I know it's here to stay for a couple of more seasons.

Do you own any clear accessories?  Do you think the trend is here to stay?  I'd love to hear what you think!

There is only two types of people in the world; the ones that love flatforms and the ones that don't.  But I'm a 'try new things' kind of girl.  That my friends, is my failed attempt to incorporate Britney Spears into my post.  I guess I tried? .. Anyways, the topic of choice is flatforms.  I remember when I was about four years old and the biggest trend was to have flatform shoes!  I envied my sister because she owned a pair with a black platform and rainbow straps that she would wear e v e r y w h e r e.  That is until the strap ripped off while she was walking during a family trip to the ROM and we had to make an emergency stop at Bi Way to buy her a new pair.  Now that is a story I will save for later.  Don't have a clue what I'm on about?  Think Spice Girls.  Yes, those shoes that were two or probably more inches high with very little arch.

Worldwide, bloggers and fashionistas alike have been strutting them everywhere they go.  They have been seen on catwalks for many designer brands like Prada and Celine.  It is one of those items that you can wear casually or to make a classy outfit look modern.  That being said, it is very easy to make them look horrid and very unappealing.  It all depends on how you style it.

I love how Kavita has styled her sandal flatforms, it ties the whole outfit together and she definitely makes a statement with the metallic shade.
Rihanna is definitely a fan of flatforms as she incorporates it into her everyday outfits.
Various street stylers wear them immaculately and definitely add their person touches!

My verdict: Yay!  Perfect way to get some height comfortably and look stylish at the same time.

What do you think, is this just a reoccurring fad or do you think it is here to stay? Yay or Nay?  Let me know in the comments below!
