Clear accessories, also known as lucite accessories, were first spotted last year on the runways for Spring/Summer 2013 but have been recently making the rounds amongst stores and fashion bloggers.  They come in many forms and sizes; from shoes to bracelets, from clutches to necklaces and everything in between.  It is definitely a newer trend as I do not recall it trending in the past ten years.  I'm just waiting for Forever 21 to sell their clear bracelets and lucite statement necklaces so I can snatch them!  The possibilities for pairing clear accessories with your outfits are endless.  Here are some pictures of clear accessories as well as where you can buy them.

Forever 21 also has a whole collection of clear accessories out, I still haven't spotted them in any stores in Toronto but you can see them here and here.

T+J Designs  I love T+J jewellery!  They have a whole collection of lucite accessories.

Here are some street stylers strutting their accessories!

I am in love with this trend and I know it's here to stay for a couple of more seasons.

Do you own any clear accessories?  Do you think the trend is here to stay?  I'd love to hear what you think!

There is only two types of people in the world; the ones that love flatforms and the ones that don't.  But I'm a 'try new things' kind of girl.  That my friends, is my failed attempt to incorporate Britney Spears into my post.  I guess I tried? .. Anyways, the topic of choice is flatforms.  I remember when I was about four years old and the biggest trend was to have flatform shoes!  I envied my sister because she owned a pair with a black platform and rainbow straps that she would wear e v e r y w h e r e.  That is until the strap ripped off while she was walking during a family trip to the ROM and we had to make an emergency stop at Bi Way to buy her a new pair.  Now that is a story I will save for later.  Don't have a clue what I'm on about?  Think Spice Girls.  Yes, those shoes that were two or probably more inches high with very little arch.

Worldwide, bloggers and fashionistas alike have been strutting them everywhere they go.  They have been seen on catwalks for many designer brands like Prada and Celine.  It is one of those items that you can wear casually or to make a classy outfit look modern.  That being said, it is very easy to make them look horrid and very unappealing.  It all depends on how you style it.

I love how Kavita has styled her sandal flatforms, it ties the whole outfit together and she definitely makes a statement with the metallic shade.
Rihanna is definitely a fan of flatforms as she incorporates it into her everyday outfits.
Various street stylers wear them immaculately and definitely add their person touches!

My verdict: Yay!  Perfect way to get some height comfortably and look stylish at the same time.

What do you think, is this just a reoccurring fad or do you think it is here to stay? Yay or Nay?  Let me know in the comments below!

I have always admired M.I.A, from her strong beliefs to her stunning voice but what I love about her the most is her style.  Simply put, it is eccentric yet chic and modern; all at the same time.  Of course only M.I.A could manage to pull that off.  Not to mention how beautiful she is, can you believe that she is 38 years old?  She doesn't look a day over 21, blessed she is!  Seeing her in person has just made me love her even more.  How many people can say they sung Bucky Done Gun with M.I.A herself?  Hopefully you can!  Although if you cannot, I definitely recommend seeing her live.  I am convinced that my obsession to gold developed from her.  Here are some of her looks from over the past years that I love love love!

I just love her! (Just in case you never knew already)

Do you love M.I.A as much as I do?  Which celebrity inspires you most in terms of style?

Sometimes I spend hours thinking of a new blog name as my current one just doesn't seem to 'stick' and in the moment I wasn't thinking of it; I found the perfect name.  Welcome to my blog Kaur of Style.  Kaur is my middle name, it means Princess/Lioness and represents that I am independent and equal to every human being no matter their race, size, sexuality or any difference for that matter.  A homophone of Kaur is core where the literal meaning is "the basic or most important part; the essence."  This blog will include everything from style posts to lifestyle posts and everything in between.  I finally feel as if I have found the perfect match and can only hope that you enjoy the future of my blog as much as I will enjoy creating it.

“Things change. And friends leave. Life doesn't stop for anybody.” -Stephen Chbosky

The past year has been full of change.  I transformed my body, transformed my blog, transformed my lifestyle and to some extent I transformed my way of thinking.  Maybe I should've named this post 'transformation' but for now I'll stick with 'change'.  Change is inevitable.  Personally, I love who I've become.  For starters I cut my hair!  It went from this:
 to this:
I love love love my hair short!  Life is honestly so much easier, it only takes my 30 minutes to blow dry and straighten my hair as opposed to 1.5 hours!

I have officially decided to start blogging again, I definitely feel like I'm in my element now.  I have been playing around with blog names and I finally feel like I've picked the 'perfect' fit, whatever that means!  I would love to hear your opinion on what kind of posts you would like to see so it would be greatly appreciated if you could vote in the poll on the right side of my blog.

In regards to the ongoing transformation of my body and lifestyle, stay tuned!

*I wrote this on Tuesday*
I haven't went shopping in a very long time.  Since I got great marks first semester at school, I'm gonna treat myself to a little shopping spree!  Last time I went to Forever21 I hated all the clothing that they had, it was all repetitive clothing that I've seen other places.  But today, they released 2000 new items! Yes, you read that right TWO THOUSAND new items.  As I write this out, they're adding more new items!  I have fallen in love with many of the items and I've decided to post them on here as a part of my wish list!  I know I can't wait for spring/summer to arrive and for the snow to go back to the Arctic!  & I can't wait till next week when I go shopping!  I won't do a haul post, but I will use the items for future OOTD's (duh!).  On to my post! Enjoy :)
(click on the stores name to see the product!)

I really want a taupe/nude dress! This one is from Forever 21

I can already picture so many outfits with this dress! Forever 21

I love dresses that show off my back, what can I say, I love my back. :)
This is from Forever 21

If this dress had been out around the time of my semi formal, I would've worn this!  Forever 21
